About the Institute for Private Capital

IPC mission is to promote a deep understanding of the role of private capital markets in the global economy.

IPC brings together academic and industry experts who work together to generate new knowledge about private capital markets based on objective academic research. Findings are disseminated through academic publications, research symposia and education outreach.

Central to the institute’s mission is creating new data resources which can be utilized by academic researchers. This effort fills a significant gap in the knowledge base of financial economics. Privately held capital constitutes the vast majority of global capital, yet little academic research focuses on it because so little data are available.
